Something about remixes … such a turn off to see or rather hear these “interpretations” of a favoured song/movie making flashy rounds on the charts. And the magic is obviously so strong, nostalgia or just ignorant awe, we have a hit!
Why RE anything? Is there such a dirth of inspiration that we look over our shoulders and past the years even to express ourselves. Too many years on this planet. Even Waters writes the best lyrics when he’s either reminiscing about, regretting or reliving the Syd Barrett Pink Floyd years. Ha, that’s just my opinion I guess. But then, the only Limp Bizkit songs worth lending my time or a discerning ear (pardon the prejudice) to are covers like Behind Blue eyes (The Who). Bollywood has me shaking in my boots everytime I commit the unpardonable crime of paying attention dring TV time. So many remakes, redone to reinstate some stolen glory and then claim it a rendition to remind the present generation of the resounding genius of the work of art. Well, sigh faith young woman!
Need some time off from that emotion
Time to pick my heart up off the floor
Yes I’ve gotta have faith…
