Old habits, new props

January 7, 2010 § Leave a comment

Wore me a new pair of shoes
to walk me a new mile
Turned another corner
yet caught no stranger’s smile.

Felt the sun go in & out, up & down
chasing crowds lost on a stage,
Saw myself in the window pane
watched my thoughts wash away.

Lost my way home, wind swept
thought I’d stop to catch the rain,
as the questions welled inside
I took a trip to a higher plane.
